Polarity Therapy—a technique for Balancing & Clearing our Energy Fields—works with the natural flow of energy in our bodies. It is therapeutic—non-invasive—organic. Think of the body as a battery—the positive, transmitting pole at the top and on the right—the grounding, negative pole at the bottom and on the left.

During this workshop we will:

  • Learn the Essential Principals of Polarity Therapy & Explore How We Transmit & Receive Energy
  • Learn Some Basic Positions and Practice Working On Others
  • Learn and Practice Techniques of Self-Polarity (Working On Yourself)

We will begin with a short talk, followed by some meditation to raise our vibration and free ourselves of ‘psychic debris.’ A demonstration of Polarity Therapy will follow. The remainder of the class will be devoted to practicing on one another.

MOLD: A Danger to your Health

beautiful young woman faceMany of us have heard that the air inside most homes is more toxic than the exterior air. One of the main factors here is the presence of mold. We’ve all seen the black mold that grows on the tile in your shower if it’s not regularly scrubbed. But mold in many cases cannot be seen because it is hiding behind the walls and ceilings, behind bookcases, wallpaper or panelling.

Mold can cause chronic sinus problems and allergies, asthma, and even chronic fatigue and  fibromyalgia. It can lead to cancer in people with weakened immune systems.

I was inspired to write about this after a tree fell on the roof of my home in late February. The damaged roof caused water to leak in, and (I won’t bore you with details about the landlord’s decision to delay repairs) mold developed within 2 weeks of the damage… Don’t ever delay repairing a leak, trust me, you don’t want the consequences of that. Here are two links to basic information about mold remediation, from the Environmental Protection Agency:

If you are exposed to mold before or during the process of fixing the problem, here are some prevention tips you may not have thought of to protect your health:
  • Wear a mask and be careful not to spread the spores into the rest of the house as the work is going on.
  • Diffuse Tea Tree or Niaouli essentials oils to protect your lungs. Both are strongly anti-fungal and support your immune system. Eucalyptus oil also helps clear the lungs.  Keep in mind that specific essential oils should be used 3 days on, 3 days off to prevent habituation.
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat soups. In particular, include parsnips, daikon radish, and bay leaves as these ingredients help detoxify and clear phlegm form your lungs and sinuses.
  • Avoid dairy products
  • Go out for a walk to breathe in clear fresh air.

If you already have allergies and want to stop taking antihystamines, or just feel better, consult with an licensed acupuncturist. I have helped many people eliminate their allergies and chronic sinus problems.

    This Sunday we explore TONGUE DIAGNOSIS as a way to recognize what types of foods our body may need, and which foods to avoid. We observe the shape, color, markings and coating of our own tongue, and see how this relates to metabolism, excessive or insufficient appetite, bloating or sluggishness.  As usual, we start with a guided meditation.I hope you’ll join us!
